Hello all!
I am trying to study at HKU or CUHK, post-secondary universities in Hong Kong.
My only dilemma-I can't seem to find whether HKU ou CUHK is an accredited college!
I assume that HKU is, considering it has exchange programs with universities worldwide, and is in the top 40 colleges in the world.
Any solid information would be so greatly appreciated!
Thanks so much!
Sincerely,
Jon R.

If you mean, are they recognised internationally as being 'real universities', the answer is yes, although I don't know where you would go to find this stated officially. The Government web site doesn't seem to have a list of accredited universities in HK, but maybe I didn't look hard enough. My husband works at a university here, so he may know where to find an official list of universities, or I can just send you one.
The other question you will need to investigate is the status of the degree that you are planning on studying. For example, doing a teaching qualification, or a medical degree, here in HK doesn't mean that you will automatically be allowed to teach or practice medicine in another country.

These are the local self-accrediting institutions:
City University of Hong Kong
Hong Kong Baptist University
Hong Kong University of Science and Technology
Lingnan University
The Chinese University of Hong Kong
The Hong Kong Institute of Education
The Hong Kong Polytechnic University
The Open University of Hong Kong
The University of Hong Kong
Other places have accredited courses which are accredited through the Hong Kong Council for Academic Accreditation.
CUHK and HKU are governed by the laws of Hong Kong and each by its own Ordinance (1109 and 1053 respectively).

Thank you so much for your help, Claire and hkkm!
I did some hard research myself and did find that they are self-accredited, I just wasn't absolutely sure.
I will study business/advertising, so I do not feel that I need to worry about the medical practice.
Thanks again! I really appreciate the help =D
