Hi there, we are moving to Hanoi in July and have two children - 2 yrs and 6 months. I'm wondering about getting around in a car. Is it best to take our car seats over there and hire a car and driver? That way the seats can be permanently in the car and the kids still travel safely. Any suggestions?
Also, is it easy to buy a cot for my 6mth old?
One last thing! We are looking at moving to West Lake. Is this a good area for kids?

I am also interested in any information anyone can provide about living,moving to Hanoi with kids. We are considering moving to Hanoi for a short term contract (don't hold that against me) and our boy will be 1 year old.
I am just starting to search for all the stuff that one searches for when on the move. In the last 2 years we have lived in Bangalore, Stockholm and Amsterdam, so the moving and what I have to find out is not new to me BUT with a little one it is.
Any help appreciated - even re-direction to some useful websites :)

hi niki and claire, we are contemplating a move to Hanoi in the next month. going over for a looksee in a week's time. Have you both moved over? if so, would love to hear about how you're finding living there and any advice you may have for us about moving there. i have 2 daughters - one is 2 and the other 10 months.
any help would be appreciated!
