The DH (Domestic Helper) employed by our friends stole most of their expensive stuff while they were away from HK and fled. Police report was made and they concluded (from immigration records, persumably) that DH has left HK and they can't do anything beyond that.
Can anyone help/advise what actions can be taken either in HK or in PH where she must have gone to. Can we go to a court of law for help?
We can discuss any legal angles and support which can tactfully be obtained from HK police within the scope of their duties. We do understand that the HK police may have many priorities in not pursuing the cases of this type.
We are willing to pay for legal help if that is needed, but we need to know what outcome is possible.
Thanks in advance for all help!
John
