Tax refund from the UK

My husband and I went travelling last year and therefore did not work the full 12 months in the UK. We moved over here in Nov and I want to see if I can claim any tax back from the UK but have no idea how to do this! We are both UK citizens.

Does anyone know how to go about this?

I had to do 5 months of work in the UK a couple of years ago and naturally got fleeced on emergency tax whilst I was there.

I did however recoup the majority back though a very good (and reasonably priced) accountant who was a pleasure to deal with.

PM me if you'd like his details.

I moved here in January. I filled in this form http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/cnr/p85.pdf and returned it with my P45 from my last employer in the UK to the tax office for that employer. They processed it and sent me a cheque for the refund.
