If you do some searches there should be answers to all of these questions.
Good range of bread etc - try citysuper (IFC building, central) or olivers (princes bldg, central) or great (pacific place). Expensive but good quality items you are looking for. Here is a thread on cheese

Great thai and japanese everywhere. Cafe siam is great as is "rat alley" which serves cheap thai and malaysian and is a great experience. tokyo jio is wonderful but there are a lot of japanese restaurants everywhere that are all great. Soho is a good area for eats.
Bowen rd for dogs (but be careful there is a fool who leaves poison baits for dogs, so always keep your pup on a leash) - depends on where you will live – there are lots of walking tracks and parks in every area. There is a dog park up at the peak - end of mt austin road. There is a new harbourfront dog park in wan chai as well.

Hi there,
I have just started learning Wing Chun Kung Fu (the style that IP man taught Bruce Lee) at a place called Pangea. The instructors are amazing! All of the English speaking and most of them Australian, but they all still train with IP Man's top student Chu Shong Tin 5 days a week (think I spelt it correct)
Anyhow, they have just moved and have a brand new club in central, On Lan Street next to the big Marks and Spencers. If you are still interested call John 61408245 he will be able to help
good luck
Ilene
