Love at first sight - the only way I can descript this contemporary highchair from Bloom when my husband and I saw the window display at Moderntots in New York. The function and look of this Fresco highchair is by far the best in the market.
They told us it is suitable for 3 months to potentially 4 years. The seat pad comes in a variety of colors and there are two dishwasher trays- one for play, and one for food. The thing that impressed us the most was the "pneumatic-assist easy-lift height adjustment". They made it rise and fall kind of like magic. It even has a sleeping position for infants which was referred to as the "pod position".
Another of Bloombaby's innovations, the "baby lounger", is quite sleek. It comes in either wood or clear plexiglass, and the seat is available in a variety of colors.
I got all information and visited their website www.bloombaby.com and quickly call the contact when i got back to HK. They are currently not available at any stores yet (but they told me will be at Bumps to Babes) but they do direct sales at the moment. They will deliver the product to your door free of charge. I am going to see the product at their showroom.
Also, I found the article from CNNMoney as well.

i am speechless after reading the entire cnn article, especially the bugaboo stroller that costs 2000 bucks.
each to their own but i think i'm happy with my ikea plastic highchair that is so easy to clean and my mothercare stroller for long walks and combi for the malls. the money i save from buying these chic stuff (which will be stained with food eventually) is better used to buy good and fresh quality ingredients to cook for my baby.

Still prefer the Tripp Trapp. Love the fact that the children sit right at the table with us without being separated by their own tray. Plenty of colours and cushions to blend in with the rest of the dining room furniture. Like WM said, 'each to their own'!
Was that US$2000 for the Bugaboo? I paid about half that for mine but still gave it away in favour of my Maclaren.

I believe the US prices are higher for bugaboo. Of course, to each his/her own...
Nat888, I saw that chair as well, but remember having checked the user reviews and decided to go the stokke route. Good luck!

oh wait, that $2k pricetag refers to a pimped out bugaboo, of course the price will be higher for that!

love my stokke tripp trapp as well. It's the best high chair...and as mrsl says - it allows your baby to sit at the table with you and interact with you. WE have one, and we're about to get another for our soon to be toddler. She already sits in her sister's chair and loves it.

I'll probably pull the chair up to the table too. I looked at the tripp trapp, but was concerned because my friend said her baby pushes on the table when he's done and his tripp trapp falls over!
Anyhow, even though fresco comes with both large and small trays, you can take them off and pull the fresco right up to the table with harness and safety bar in place. You should check out their website www.bloombaby.com it's the only chair usable from newborn - and it looks like it can be used past 5 years or longer!

I'm not sure any newborn needs to sit up at the table - it might be nice to have a newborn reclining back near the table while I ate, but most of the time mine was in his crib sleeping while I ate, or doing other things at other time. The website says that it's not useable until 3 months - which makes more sense to me.
I saw the website as well - be warned - what looks EASY to clean may not actually be. The great thing about the tripp trapp is that it really IS easy to clean - there are no random places for things to get stuck and it wipes clean. I'm really surprised to hear that comment from your friend. Perhaps her tripp trapp is on carpet? our toddler pushes herself back from the table also, but has never ever fallen over. Her chair may not be properly calibrated for the correct balance. She should look into that.
you get what you like - but remember, there are lots of other things to spend money on (in this totally consumer obsessed culture it has gotten a bit out of control) - and some of it is great and some of it is useless. I've had two and am now on my 3rd and there are just a handful of items that I think have been worth every penny that I've spent. The best investment has been the college education funds that we've opened which are now accruing interest and working for my girls' future. That's probably the best money we've spent by not buying some objects and instead investing it in that way.
Good luck!

hkchoichoi, I hope I'm not being nosy, but did you open the college education funds here in HK? I've been looking for such a product here in HK, with no luck! Any advice is appreciated. (Sorry Nat888 for changing the subject slightly!)
