We are moving to Hong Kong probably on Lantau island, later this year, do elactrical appliances, such as Televisions, washers, fridges etc brought from UK work in Hong Kong?

yes, we have UK sockets/voltage and frequency in HK so no problem although unlesss your company is paying to relocate your goods then better to buy here. Many apartments have fitted kitchen equipments designed to save space so if you have large units sometimes the fitting can be a problem.
