Anyone know if there is a Vietman consulate in Hong Kong where we can obtain a visa to enter into Hanoi and if so where is it?
Also how long it takes to get the visa..
How much does it cost...
I know the travel agents can do it for us at a cost but wanted to see if it worth it to do it ourselves. Any advice or suggestion to make the process easier or faster would be great.

Absolutely there is. It's somewhere in Causeway Bay, I think, but the address is available on the internet somewhere. (My secretary does all the contact via our travel agent so I'm not sure, but I did see it myself sometime last week.) Cost for my daughter's single visit visa a week or so ago was ~$550. It normally takes 3 days but they must have some sort of express service (a colleague was going there a month or so ago and realised that morning his visa had expired, and he managed to get it the same day).

I've always done mine at the Vietnam Consulate in Wanchai. Ring Directory Enquiries (1081) and speak to someone at the Consulate who will fax you the form you need to complete and give you up to date information on photo requirement, cost, timing etc.
