Moving and Stressed

ORIGINAL POST

I am moving my large office over the next 4 days.

I've decided to save my sanity to do most of the packing and labeling myself. I cannot stand workers that screech and shout and break things in haste.

I have moved abt 4 times over the last decade and just can't handle it anymore.

Am I alone in hating the noise and mess?

In my company, office moves are disruptive to the overall organization's workflow, so now we have "intact move" where possible to reduced the overall packing & unpacking process.

The stress is more on the admins who oversee the moves.

a) Pack important & breakable personal items into 1 carton & label "fragile" if you need the movers to transport it.

b) Label your cartons, office tables, cabinets with name, new office location/pillar#

Label all big drawers, leave contents inside.

Assign 1 admin to oversee 1 mover to cover the drawer top with packing paper, label & tape it down.

The mover will remove the paper & insert the same drawers back at the new office.

c) If smaller roller drawers/cabinets, lock up and mover can just have an "intact contents move" to new office.
