If your daughter was born between:
29 Jan 2006 - 17 Feb 2007 - she is born in the Year of the Dog
The Year of the Pig is from - 18 Feb 2007 to 6 Feb 2008

"...so your daughter wasn't born in 2007..." is a clear reference to another Western concept. She clearly was born in 2007 but not in the lunar year of the pig.
