public buses/ minibuses & strollers

Hi, my baby is 4 months old and we've been using a carseat + frame and taxis to get around. But I'd like to use the public buses again- cheaper and I definitely get to the right destination (long story!).

Anyhow, is there anyone out there that uses the public buses with a baby and, if so, what stroller do you use? I just bought a combi b/c it's light so I can carry it and the baby onto the bus, it stands when folded (good when waiting for bus) and my baby can lie flat in it (I tend to stay out for awhile and she needs to sleep). However, my baby's feet already reach the end of the combi seat, so I am concerned as to how long the combi will actually last her.

Also, are strollers allowed on the green minibuses?

Any advice would be great.

Hi

I had exactly the same problem in getting around and managed to purchase a maclaren daytripper pram which is so light, i can hold my baby (she is 8 months old now) and fold the pram up with the other hand. This pram folds down so small that I can easily take it on the minibus. I have had no one tell me i am not allowed on the green minibuses with it. You need to put it up the front over the handles. With your baby being smaller I would also utilise a baby bjorn carrier to make it safer for both you and baby. My pram also has two options that enables my daughter to half lie down when she is sleeping. I can also carry the pram with my daughter in it down and up stairs also.

Hope this helps.
