Solid - what fish to give

My son will turn 8 months in 2 weeks time . I'm planning to introduce fish to his diet . Would appreciate if you could kindly share what kind of fish to give for a start .Thanks!

We started with plaice, then moved onto salmon and sole.


I am not sure if this is the correct types of fish to introduce, but we have had no problems and bubs LOVES fish now.

fish is tricky because some are more conservative and only do fish after one because of the potential allergies. make sure you are aware there are no family history about fish allergies. if there are, i would wait.


we started with threadfin (what my fishmonger calls the asian cod), a popular first fish with singaporeans when they give fish to babies for the 1st time.


we did some canned tuna when we did tuna pasta. he had some cod nearer to one years and we only did sole and salmon after one.


if you have no family history about fish allergies and your baby seems ok with fish, i personally think fish is great - alot of my friends' kids HATE them but mine just loves it. seek advice from your baby's doctor if you are concerned.
