I try more table foods with my own two kids at this age. Whatever we eat, they eat (with less seasoning of course.) My daughters from age 1, started with whole grain rice with beans, soup, korean style vegetables and whatever fish or meat we were having. It was cut up far more fine and given to them mixed in with the clear soup broth. If your baby has a decent set of chompers, you can gradually move them towards what you are eating. IT makes the adults eat far healthier. (my husband no longer eats MCDonalds thank God.)

annabel karmel's books are very good, available in hong kong. There is one called the Complete baby and toddler which has a good selection of western style recipes.
