Plagiarism?

ORIGINAL POST

I submitted 2 articles for publication in a magazine which has stopped circulating. I was informed by editor X that they will come up with a new one and my write ups will be published . ( he emailed me what he said was an edited copy but actually, not a word was changed ) Since it stopped, there was a split up and I’m one of the main player in the other half now and we will have our maiden issue soon. Could I stop Editor X from using them ( the articles I submitted) ?

Also last November, I had two articles that were very close to my heart because they were some kind of a last farewell to a mentor. When the magazine came out, I saw that only one was published but it was “ chopped” as well as the other one—their formats, the style, the thoughts- and ended as an Editorial message by editor x. I was not informed and my write up came out ok to a reader but we knew otherwise. I did tell them I would understand ( time constrained ) but it would have been better if I was informed and was given even 10 minutes to tweak it !

In short, he did plagiarise my work before, I just don't want a repeat.

If he decided to go ahead and have them publish (after I told him I am not giving my consent ) will it count as plagiarism?

Thanks for your inputs.

(Editor X by the way is a lawyer not allowed to practice here and I’m a domestic help )

You mean going to language, cooking, dancing classes are illegal activities? Or even to volunteer to teach those classes is illegal too?Or taking a walk to raise money for charity an illegal activities as well?

FYI, this matter has already been taken up ( by my employer's lawyer no less with the ID ) so my question here is not whether or not I ( and many others ) could write or volunteer but if I could stop Editor x from publishing my write ups under different magazine AFTER I asked him not to. They are very good ones and I don't want them printed in a magazine or tabloid that I don't want to be associated with.

If you can't give me an answer to that, do save us some time.

Thank you, Scarlet lady.

We sat down and he gave me back all of my write ups and at the same time he invited me to join them, but I've started a foundation and a writer's guild so I refused. Although I told him to inform me a week in advance if they need something from me, and I'll see what I can do.

*** Thank you too, MeiGourin for the messages.
