Why not drink tap water? It's perfectly OK, I've been drinking it ever since I arrived in Hong Kong 22 years ago and it's never done me any harm.

There's nothing wrong with the tap water in Hong Kong. Contrary to some people's beliefs, this is not a third world country.

The fact that I have to run more than a sink of water every morning before our 'drinking' water runs clear is somewhat off putting to drink it. I'll stick to bottled thanks, although sometimes we drink boiled water.

Yes, I suppose it depends on where you live and how lucky you are with your water tank! I lived on the Peak when I first arrived (not rich, just renting a room!) and the water there was brown. I have to admit I still drank it though - it didn't occur to me to do otherwise, since I'd drunk tap water all my life in England.
