My baby has 2 baby teeth now - the 2nd one slightly come up and they are both slanted inwards - is this common? For your information we only give him the dummy when he is unsettled or when he goes to sleep but we do pull out the dummy when he has fallen asleep. Not sure whether or not the dummy has affected his teeth? He practically puts everything we give him in his mouth.

My daughter has the same teeth you are describing. when i pull out the dummy though she sometimes wakes us crying and so we leave it in a bit longer till she's deeper in her sleep. But i also wonder whether the dummy will affect her teeth.
bbvv - how are you brushing her teeth/gums? i'm told to use toothpaste, right now i just use cotton bud dampened with cooled boiled water.

My babies were both like that, really slanted teeth. I was kind of worried, but when the other teeth came in.... they lined up by themselves. Partly also because when they are teething, it's itchy, and they keep using their tongues to tip the teeth forward... pushed, pushed.... became all straight. They both have perfectly straight teeth now... but who knows what happens when they start changing to their permanenet set.....almost all kids have braces now.

Hi Katetam, that's good to hear that they start out slanted. I've never seen babies with crooked teeth so more reassured now.
Hi flowers_daffodil, I used an oral towel dipped in warm boiled water to clean my babies mouth ever since he was born after each milk feed. As for the teeth I brought one of those finger brush for HKD49 to brush in the morning and night as well with baby toothpaste brought from Wing On for HKD68 - the toothpaste is safe to swallow and contains milk enzyme as found in breastmilk. By bubs certainly enjoys have his gums and teeth massaged. Cooled boiled water is also ok to use too.
