Hello,

7 months old baby keeps waking up at night screaming with both hands in his mouth. What to apply in his gums? Are those gels safe? Pedia says paracetamol, i gave him but he still woke up. (he sleeps thru the night)

A small portion of tooth has been showing up.

Thanks.....

sorry to hear your bub is not handling teething well, honeypie. Mine was like that too. I find nothing helps really. I cuddled and had lots of body contact when she cried. I did, however, notice she suffered most when the first two teeth erupted, whilst she wasn't bothered much after the 5th and 6th teeth. Many past threads on this and here are some recommendations I got that you may want to try: calpol (from b2B), teetha (homeopathy powder, also b2b), daktarin, oragel. I do find she seems more settled after Teething Relief from Brauer (homeopathy liquid) but I got mine from Australia not sure if you can get it here. Don't worry this phase will soon pass.

i'll get teetha tomorrow. i already gave calpol last night but he woke up after 4.5 hours, perhaps the effect has gone.

Hi Honeypie,

Have you tried Bongela? You can put it in the fridge to cool it and apply the gel on baby's gum, it works well for many babies.

Also, you may get a pair of gum cleaning/massaging gloves to massage your baby's gum - I bought a pair from Mothercare - my baby loves it when I use them to massage her gum.

Good Luck!

My daugther has been rubbing her chin on my shoulder for few months now especially when she's tired. She has her 1st & 2nd tooth out (just recently). i wonder if this rubbing is due to teething. Also starting today I notice that she is pursing her lips - is this also due to teething?
