Hi

I'd appreciate it if someone would let me know about how much time to allow for hiking from Tung Chung Fort to the Big Buddha on Lantau.

The hike would be at a moderate pace.

Any other info appreciated.

Thanks!

Hiking Via Shek Mun Kap will take approx one and a half hours.

Be sure to stock up on water before leaving Tung Chung as the little village shop in Shek Mun Kap isn't always open.

Nice walk, you might get some good views of the airport if the pollution's low.

Almost forgot, another slightly more demanding route hillwise exists directly underneath the cable-car, you'd be looking at a good 2hrs if you take it.

Again appreciable views on a clear day.

I hiked with my bf 2 weeks ago. We started from Tung Chung to Ngong Ping. We walked right under the cable cars. It was quite tough for the first part. Took us 3 hours to walk (slow). Remember to bring a lot of water as there are quite a lot of uphill parts.
