Primary Net teacher's air tickets

I have a 2-year contract at a primary school under EMB's net scheme. How many air tickets are included per year under a 2-year contract?

The short answer: one flight to Hong Kong at the beginning and one flight from Hong Kong at the end of the two-year contract.


A longer answer:

Although this year's Letter of Appointment hasn't been released yet, in the past (eg. EMB Circular 103/206), if your "normal place of residence is outside Hong Kong [you] will be reimbursed for the actual cost of an economy class single air passage by the most direct route (with ot without stop-over en route) (referred to as STANDARD PASSAGE) from[your] country of origin to Hong Kong"


"The cost of similar passages for the NET's spouse and the unmarried accompanying children under the age of 18 up to a maximum of 5 persons including the NET will be reimbursed under the following conditions" (if the spouse's company is not reimbursing)


Ditto for the homeward bound journey at the end of the contract.

reckon the EMB will be sympathetic to the fact that my conscience doesn't allow me to fly, and I'll be getting the train across from the UK? (London, Europe, Russia, Mongolia thru to China then HK). It's only a little more expensive, believe it or not...

That sounds like you want to be different..... Hong Kong and the word different are a poor combination. Good luck.

You should get written quotes from two airlines for one-way tickets on the day of your departure from the UK or arrival in HK. I've used internet quotes.


When you hand in the passage reimbursement form to the school, include the two quotes and your train ticket(s).


You may have to explain your choice of travel to the school or the EMB.
