Hi, I read that HK is a great city for listening to live Jazz and maybe grab something to eat? Any recommendations?

Actually, Hong Kong is pretty weak for live jazz.

Your best bets are:

- Grappa’s in Jardine House (as mentioned above) has monthly jazz sessions

- Philia on Arbuthnot Road has also had a couple of jazz events (with Eugene Pao to boot) and I hear is going to a monthly cycle as well

- Blue Door is probably the closes thing to a traditional jazz club

- Allen Youngblood regularly performs at the FCC

Also Gecko, Dinamo Hum, the Fringe Club, ... But the number of jazz musicians here is quite small so you end up seeing the same faces in different combinations at different venues.

The FCC has a 3-day Jazz Festival coming up which is open to non-members: http://www.fcchk.org/events/FCC_Jazz_Fest_07_flyer.jpg
