Net Connection for Remote Locations?

Will be making a trip to check out the AsiaXPAT School in a remote part of Java Indonesia in the near future - there is no standard net connection in this village... There is mobile tel coverage.


Anyone know of a way to get connected in such locations? Satellite? GPRS?

check vodocoms gprs card. but is going to be expensive for broadband roaming. check smartone website.

I was off in Kalimantan some years ago, the capital (and the name escapes me) not a village. Internet access was horribly expensive - so I would image wireless access might be approaching reasonable these days - but don't be shocked if the cost is shocking!
