I've just dribbled some dark vinaigrette on my cream blouse! dashed to the loo and rubbed like mad but there is still a transparent oil-like stain! any ideas?? arghhhh!!!

Soak overnight in bleach, unless it says on the blouse not to.

If ever this happens again pour soda water over the stain, blot, don't rub then repeat. Too late for this method now but remember it for future use.

Depending on the fabric of your shirt, perhaps pour a little undiluted dishwash dtergent on the stain...sounds like it is the residual oil from the vinaigrette, then when dry, if the stain still is there, again, depending on the shirt's fabric, a warm to hot iron lifted up & down on the stain , with a piece of absorbent paper, such as blotting paper on both sides of the stain. Each time you move the iron, make sure that the paper doesn't move about, thus transferring the oil it has just absorbed back onto another area of your shirt!

You need put a water soluble oil on it eg. tea tree oil, eucalyptus oil or even WD40 then most of the oil adhere to water soluble oil and wash out with normal detergent and water.

Try hydrogen peroxide (the stuff that you disinfect wounds with) or try baking soda. Hair spray can hold the stain.
