Beach party

We did a beach party for my son's 9th birthday a few years back at Big Wave Bay, one of the best parties we've had.We did a bbq, took all our own drinks and food. Its not a problem to take drinks and things, a lot of people do, but you can only do bbq's on the designated sites. Ball games are not a problem in the winter, but if its a lifeguard manned beach then no ball games, kite flying, etc are allowed. But it does depend on how strict the lifeguards are. I was at Big Wave Bay the bank holiday beginning of May, the beach was the busiest I've ever seen it, but also saw several ball games, frisbee etc going on without being stopped.

We did the whole beach theme, played The Beachboys on a portable cd player, did little c*cktails with blue fanta complete with little unmbrellas, hired boogie boards, and brought everyone an Hawaiian shirt.

I was at South BAy Beach on the weekend and watched a frisbee game get stopped. Thirty minutes later a dad and his two boys got stopped from kicking a ball around. The lifeguards seemed pretty officious.
