What are you all doing with your children in this hot weather? I wanted to take mine out for a run around today but it's going to be 33 and very hot. I know this is typical of a HK Summer but I've never had two of them in the house climbing the walls before. Any ideas?
Thanks

Put lots of suncream on and go to the pool, beach etc. My kids are still doing all the normal things, football training, school, swimming etc.

How old are the kids? A shaded park, yes pool or beach, or 'new' activities at home. I liked to prepare a new art and craft activity like making a seascape with sand and shells glued to cardboard and some drawing additions to it...Make playdough or a cake and have a tea party! Boys love baking too.

Museums have AC, as do malls. You are in HK, try ice skating at Festival Walk. Better yet, get out in early A.M. and get back into house by 11:30, then stay in and siesta until at least 3:30 PM or later. With a nap, you can stay out later in the evening. There's a reason people in southern locales across the world do this. It's actually better to stay out of sun -- even the best sun screen still only gives partial protection -- and remember to wear glasses that are polarized and protect againt UV light.

Our boy is 16 months.
We put the baby bath outside and fill it with water and he 'plays' he LOVES this...
The other day, we were too lazy and just had him play in the bathtub...
The only problem is, now he NEVER wants to get out of his bath!! haha
It depends where you live, if you have a car, et... but there are lots of those indoor play 'gyms'.

You know when my helper needs to get our two boys out they just go down to the mall and she lets them chase each other in the main open area. they are 18 months and 2 1/2 so they're happy enough for 30 mins playing. Also play rooms are great, or going out early in the morning to playground or late afternoon in the shade.
The bath for a playtime after outdoor time is great. bubble blowing in the bathroom.
bunch of boxes to make houses and cars etc.
All the usual rainy day stuff.

We'll spend the day down the pool or on the beach. ride our bikes or if i'm feeling lazy we'll go to the podium, put the water hose on the slide and make a waterslide which my kids then play in wearing just their knickers.
I don't want them growing up 'fearing the sun' like most locals do, so they grow up playing in it and learning the precautions they must take.

I take my 2 boys out at 8.30am to the park or what ever and then we are back inside by 11 / 11.30. The if I'm up to it we go out again at 4pm for an hour or so. If we don't go out I let my son play in the sink pretending to wash up and my other son crawls around playing.

My kids don't seem to really notice the hot weather. We do the usual sporting activities and spend a lot more time in the pool.
We always have plenty of water to drink, wear hats and sun block.
If we are at home the kids love to go out on the balcony with water and paint brushes, we do lots of water play in the shade.

totty: i think the sun from 11 -3 is really strong.
I come from a hot place and don't fear the sun but i do tend to stay indoors during those peak hours. moreso now with the baby.
