hot weather- stroller

ORIGINAL POST

Hi, I had my 5 month old out in her stroller yesterday and even when stripped down to her diaper she was sweating buckets (and we got lots of stares/ comments b/c she was almost naked!). I think the stroller's material is the problem (a maclaren) as it isn't breathable. Does anyone have any tips on how to make it a more comfortable ride in hot weather? Towel on seat, local "gadget"? Thanks!

they have these rattan seat covers - you may try jusco for them.

Head to Bumps to Babes, I got a sheepskin insert which keeps my little one cool in the summer and warm in the winter because it is a natural fibre, works a treat!

We do find that an all cotton blanket/sheet helps... as does a fan attached to the stroller...

We bough the 'bird' fant at Bumps2Babes last year and it fell apart very quickly.

This year we got one from WingOn that has 'foam' wings, and is wonderful...

(actually a bit too wonderful, our 16 month old loves it so much he asks for 'fan' and walks around with it turning it on and off!!)

I have the same problem as kilwinning. My little one just won't stay in the stroller coz he sweats so much and his hair's dripping water every time we put him in there. I've tried everything - towel, rattan or bamboo seat covers - doesn't help too much. I finally got a fan from B2B too.

Did consider sheepskin too but I doubt if it really does keep one cool in summer? HK weather is so humid and hot...

Honestly the sheep skin does stop my little from sweating on her back, before her back was soaking wet but now its fine

it does make sense that sheepskin would work.

when you are hiking - in the cold, you are supposed to wear wool as it wisks the sweat from you and takes it to the wool. that way you prevent hypothermia.

get a fan - most baby shops should sell it. we have a mothercare bird one - very freaky looking and a tad noisy but does the job.

if not sheepskin, at least pad the seat with some muslin cloth to keep your bub cool.

hi,

my babies back got some rashes (again), he was already smooth skin after his eczema but now it's back again, but this time it's just small dots dots, must be the heat.

I'll try to get that sheepskin and fan.
