NHL FINALS ON NOW TV

Gents, this is a rather stunning development and a positive one at that. Apparently NOW TV has the Stanley Cup finals and will also be showing the 2007-08 season on Sports One. NO sh*t. They don't consider hockey a premium sport so they have not done any PR, ergo nobody knows about this. Read this note that they sent to SCMP sports:

I checked their website, and they have the games listed. They say that Ch 686 is $218 per month based on a 12 month subscription.

Overtime could be interesting. They have 2.5 hrs scheduled for each game. Will Now Sports stay with hockey or continue with regularly scheduled programming?


NBC or CBC feed? What, no Don Cherry? Hmmm, NBC cut away from overtime during the Buffalo-Ottawa Series to go to the Preakness pre-race show, so it may not matter what Now Sports does during overtime as NBC may do it for them anyway.


Not complaining as it is great to have NHL on local TV, but we'll have to see what happens with OT...
