My little boy will be turning ONE very soon. We plan to celebrate his birthday by throwing a party/dinner for our friends, at a hotel. Can anyone give me some ideas for a birthday outfit? I was thinking may be a tuxedo but hubby feels since baby is quite small (weight:15th centile & height: 50th centile) and has not started walking as yet, it might not look that cute. What do you all think/recommend? I am open to other ideas as well. Also, should his (2 ½ year old) brother be wearing something similar or should the birthday boy be wearing something ‘special’?

Hi there,
Well for me, 1st birthday for a child is very important and you do not want to let that day go wrong, so I personally prefer that the child is to be dressed in a very comfortable outfit that he is used to wear so that he is comfortable as any new type of clothing would make him feel new and he will end up crying....which is going to make you feel uncomfortable too...what you can do is that you can decide a theme, say Disney, and can get something really cute like a colourful Mickey or Buzz or spiderman outfit and the bro too can give him company...in fact you can make your entire party theme on Disney or JUST ONE COLOUR, or multi colour, or black n white etc etc....
anyways enjoy his birthday

It's just a birthday ladies, not crufts !!!!
Put them in something they're comfortable in, something they can play in and something they can dirty. And then you as the parents just relax and enjoy!

I can appreciate that you want him to look smart and wear something special as is befitting the occasion but kids need to be able to play - why not just go for a proper little man shirt from Zara or something, with some smart little shorts or trousers. Similar for older brother too.
