I have a baby daughter who has eczema and we have tried lots of creams (some recommended on this website) to try and improve her eczema. I wanted to share with people some of the products that have helped relieve her of her itching and flare ups..
CREAMS - Oilatum or Oilatum plus (if she has minor infections on her skin) at bath time each day. QV cream applied over her body at least 3 times a day. We use a 250g put up each week and find this much better than Aqueous creams etc as it is thicker. Aveeno baby cream or Bioderma put on her eczema patches 3 times a day. When her eczema flares up a lot we apply some very mild hydrocortisone cream with added antibacterial agents to her inflammed areas which reduces the inflamation very quickly.
Stopping that scratching - we have found a great internet shop based in NZ that sells clothes with mittens. This stops me worrying when she is asleep / in her car seat that she is scratching herself. Funnily enough, she actually doesn't scratch herself when she has her hands covered with the mittens. We have bought pj's and tops with mittens on for her which we have found fantastic. They deliver to Hong Kong and the postage is not that expensive. Link is: www.kumfykids.co.nz
Hope these ideas are of use to some people!

Yes - the QV cream (in a 250g tub - not the lotion bottle) and Oilatum are available at Mannings. The Aveeno cream I have only found at the health shop in the basement at Times Square (part of City Super) and the Bioderma at Mannings on Queen's Rd - by the Mid-Levels escalators. FYI - these are all very expensive creams / oils but I have found that the cheaper ones (eg. aqueous cream) don't seem to work so well on my daughter.
My daughter also suffers from an itchy scalp - we wash her scalp in the bath with Oilatum (it is an alternative to soap so you don't need to use anything else in the bath to wash them) and then put a bit of baby oil on her head before bedtime. This helps but doesn't fully alleviate her itchy scalp.

Thanks.
I tried it. My daughter scratched her head like mad afterwards. I couldn't take it any longer, so last night I headed to a pharmacy at our mall, and was recommended a Japanese brand for body and hair. Immediately we washed her with that, as she's been scratching nonstop. And right after the first wash, she stopped scratching. Today is the 2nd day. And so far, very please with the result. Haven't seen her scratch since last night. It's called atopico, skin care shampoo. The rest is written in Japanese (yellow container).
