Temporary and/or part-time Work Visa?

Hello,

How hard is it to apply for a work visa for part-time employment or for a short period of time e.g. 3 months?

Is there a special temporary work visa for say, a consultant?

My company will not sponsor any employees for part-time work but if we really cannot find a local candidate, I would like to know what options there are for temporarily sponsoring an employee.

Thanks!

Best to get the definitive answer direct from Immigration or from an immigration expert (such as Emigra), but I don't think there's any such thing as a short-term employment visa per se. Instead the term of the EV is linked to the term of the contract - so if the contract term is for a limited term (which it should be anyway, the only variable being the definition of 'limited') then the EV will have the same end-date.

1. There is no category of visas called part-time / short period / temporary/ special temporay to work in HK.

2. If you are able to adduce proof that a person with the expertise that you require cannot be recruited locallly then a visa will be issued even for 3 months subjec to other consdierations such as the special skills of the applicant, financial capacity of the sponsor etc.
