Shenzhen visa for UK citizen (again... sorry!)

Sorry I know there are many posts like this but just need some up-to-date info please.


Has anyone been to Shenzhen recently and purchased a visa (UK passport holder) on the border?


I have done this in the past but not for a year. Is it still $450 or has the price increased further?

I understood that UK passport holders could no longer obtain a visa at the boarder, and that if you go without one a fine will be imposed. It would be wonderful if this has been changed.

UK passport holders can obtain a visa at the border and have been able to for the last 2.5 years that I know of. Yes, still $450 and is a 5 day visa for the SEZ (Shenzhen Economic Zone) only. Took a colleague up last weekend and no problems at all.

Brits have been able to do this since at least 2003. I havedone it countless times.

If you dont know the answer please dont dive in - it confuses people!

Having not been for some years - I was still under the impression that one had to get visa prior to going as a rejection of visa and a fine was imposed on Brits at border... Good to know will save time having to get visa before visit.

I recently got a 3 year PR visa - cost 2280 from CTS, not sure what Harbour Rd would be. I got it for convenience rather than a cost issue.
