v. long hair, bored of tying it in a ponytail - anyone got any tips? it is straight and blonde hair, with a tendancy to kink/frizz in this heat so needs to be neat and tightly secured...

Don't cut it. I did and now have short hair and find that it was cooler long and tied up than short and on my neck and ears.

yes, know what you mean - its easier when its long to do stuff with, you can have it up or down, and in this humidity, unless it is v. short it can be hard to do things with.

No its better to have it long unless you go super short. Get a clip that is a long curved clamp - I call it a banana clip. You see them everywhere with lots of sparkles on them but H & M have them plain. Grab your hair into a pony, twist it up and slide the clip through and have the rest fall down over the top. I am useless with hair and this is so easy and looks good. Bad description but hopefully you get the idea.

There are some nice ideas on this site in the beauty section. It tells you how to do it yourself.

I usually tie my hair into a ponytail and at the last minute don't completely pull the hair through the last loop. You end up with a loop of hair and tufty ends at the top. Sorry, it is so difficult to explain without pictures. It's a bit more interesting than a ponytail.

In the hot weather I go to the salon have my hair washed and instead of blow drying it completely when it is damp the stylist pulls my hair back into really smart looking braid which tends to stay good looking for about 1 or 2 days.
