This weekend, my 10mth old son had threw up both times we gave him solids at lunchtime. He opens his mouth to take in the food so I assume that he still wants it. We give him a few sips of water to drink in between - could this be the reason of him throwing up. Other reason maybe feeding too fast or maybe he is full but does not know it. Not sure whether or not I should burps him... Appreciate any advice.

at 10 months, i don't think you actually need to be burping your child. i also think a few sips of water is unlikely to be the culprit.
but what you should look at is the solids you have given him - is it a new food and the two times he threw up was when you gave him this new food...especially if it's something like dairy/eggs/fish products? if so, i would stop and try him on other foods that he's been introduced to before and see if he's ok with that.
my son has generally accepted all foods...the only time he threw up was when i gave him kiwis...probably too acidic for him. it happened twice so i stopped.

It's the same food I've given for 2 months now so not sure what it is. He seems to enjoy it but just worried that he may be taking in too much and not knowing it - I've recently added another ice cube (equiv to 1oz). I know sometimes he burps on his own like we do as adults after a full meal.
