English Medium Schools in HK

Can somebody tell me which English Medium Primary School options do I have on HK or Kowloon side for sending my child apart from the ESF, Delia School of Canada or the other International Schools(these schools r too expensive)???

Outside of ESF and international schools, there are few options in Hong Kong for English Medium of Instruction.


There is a document at the Education and Manpower Bureau website called "Education for Non-Chinese Speaking Children" at: http://www.emb.gov.hk/index.aspx?nodeID=4369&langno=1

It's a pdf file. It is a few years old so there may be a few new schools not included. A complete list of all schools in HK with contact information can also be found at the EMB website.


This document only lists 6 "free" primary schools. Page 3 has Direct Subsidy primary Schools (DSS), some of which may charge a low fee while others charge fees comparable to ESF or int'l.


I hope that you are looking for the 2008-09 school year as it probably is impossible to get into a school for this September. The Primary One applications were/are due for the first round in late September and for those who were/are not successful in obtaining a place there is a second application process in late January.

Thanks a lot for your help. I'll definitely go thru the website. I've heard that on the kowloon side there r quite a few english medium schools. I still have some more yrs to go since my kid is going to complete K1 this August. Two more yrs still to go, but have to find info earlier. Better late than never. Thanks a lot for your help.
