i've had my hair coloured and i'm sort of happy with bits of it. but there are areas that need attention and i need it sorting out. for example it's patchy in places and the stylist stuck some colour on to hide the parts that went orangey. however this seems to be fading quickly, and i'm worried. can anyone suggest someone to help? i'm so fed up - i'm going on holiday in about 4 weeks and want to look good.
i have mid brown hair with highlights/ it's quite fine. any inputplease help!

Get yourself back to the SAME hairdresser. They can fix it - and let them know exactly why you are not happy and that you are not paying for it. I recently had this happen. I had my hair highlighted - it was patchy and they also "lifted" too much colour and I went grey! I think I'd rather be orange. Not fair for these "professionals" to muck up your hair after you have paid rather handsomely. Ask to speak to the manager and ask THEM PERSONALLY to fix it or their top stylist. Long and the short of it - shouldnt have happened. All the best.

If you have it recolored without waiting a few days you risk damaging your hair. I agree with Douglas Lillico post that you should find someone that has experience in color correction but wait a few days...in two to three days after the coloring go for a deep hair treatment then wait three days - do not wash your hair, letting the natural oils returning to your scalp and tresses then go see a person with a background on color correction.

I wish we could find Rinses in HK. They just last a few washes and they are great. They cost very little and don't damage the hair either. Covers mistakes very well.

Hi Zalca, Hope you got your hair all sorted and looking even more wonderful!
DL, I really appreciate all the advice you give us in this forum and now that I think of it that way, yes, you are right. How does one protect oneself from being 'ripped off' tho by 'professionals' - we leave the salon having paid a lot of $ to have great hair and then end up paying more to have it brought back to at least original condition. Of course, seek a reputable colorist, but what should Zalca have done? Walked out without paying? What would be the correct etiquette as this seems to be a common problem. Cheers and thanks in advance.

This has happened to me before - the stylist turned my brunette hair fire engine red. Really, bright red. I sat there and refused to leave the salon until they fixed it. The whole process took more than 4 hours and was ultra stressful. I ended up paying the bill,as the final colour was ok - not lovely, just ok - but never went there again.
I go to Ian or Lauren at The Colour Bar now and they are fantastic.

Ten years ago, I had a root perm.....ha - who my god - they swore they knew how to do it and it ended up being a perm over a perm going the opposite direction of the old perm and I had witches hair for year. I refused to pay and they called the police. The police looked shocked when they saw my hair but I still had to pay....a small fortune I might add.
