Hi

Has anyone taken this airline to Singapore before with children? I checked the airline and it is much cheaper than taking SQ or CX by a half.

Many thanks

yes i did... very nice & comfortable but how old is your kid/s? my friend had 3 boys, first time she flew with JS said not good as no help from the airlines staff but so many people in the flight helped her so she is taking again this month back to S'pore with her 3 sons! BTW, this is her 3rd time.

I looked into flying jetstar to Singapore for 2 adults and 2 children....by the time the tax was added onto the jetstar tickets, CX was not much dearer...i ended up booking with CX, as Jetstar only had three seats across and we all wanted to sit together and there was no check in counter for Jetstar at the HK Station, which means we would have had to take all our stuff out to the airport and check in out there

Thanks for you replies. I'll be travelling with hubby, a 4 year old and a 1 year old together but on the way back will be on my own with kids. We are going in August for 2 weeks. I know this month is peak time for airlines.

The main thing about Jet Star is that at the HK airport there is no connecting aerobridge from the plane to the airport. You'll have to come down the stairs and take a shuttle bus. This may be inconvenient if it is raining (not sure if they make some special arrangement in that case) or if you have heavy or cumbersome hand luggage. In your case, you may have to carry your little one and hand luggage while negotiating the stairs. At the Singapore airport end, there is no difference from other commercial flights. You do not even end up at the budget terminal but in the same terminal as many other commercial airlines.

I believe the fare depends greatly on when you book. The day and even the time within the same day makes a difference sometimes.

Flight itself was pleasant the 1 time I flew it. Of course there are no frills - even the blanket has to be bought if you need one.

Cammie is right about having to take the shuttle to the plane. I think that it's not so bad. Just a short 5 min ride on a shuttle bus.

The planes have comfy seats. Of course no in-flight entertainment, etc.

Also note that although meals/drinks are not provided on Jetstar, you can purchase a simple meal for 40hkd (last time I flew with them).

I made the flight with a 10yr old and a 2 year old with help from my hubby - we didn't have any problems or complaints. We also went at peak time (CNY). I was able to save a bundle & would fly wiht them again.
