Digitizing paper documents

I have a large amount of paperwork that I would like to keep - but I would prefer it to be in a digital form so I can shred and get rid of the vast majority of it.

Does anyone know of any reputable companies in HK who offer this sort of service - and who one can rely on for confidentiality for the documents that they process?

Hi there - all great questions. I'd like to outsource because I know how time consuming it would be to do it myself. I know technically what I would need to do, but realistically there won't be time. This would be a good thing to get done - but not the best way for me to spend my free time for the next 6months+, so I'd be willing to pay a premium to have someone do it.


Ideal would be OCR: so that I might then be able to get a searchable database of my docs, but I don't know if this is really feasible, or if it can cope well with a wide variety of document types.


Failing that, a PDF-based doc database would also work.


And re. an acceptable price...I don't know: at this stage I just need an idea of pricing , say on a per-page basis (I would think that ballpark there are about 5000 pages or so), so i can figure out if this is just out of my price league to do!
