Can anyone recommend a budget hotel in Singapore as I was going to stay with a girlfriend but no room now and had only planned on airfares plus spending money

try the Hotel 81 chain, have a lot of branches and some are right outside MRT station, like the one in Chinatown.

thanks for the reply I have actually had my weekend in Singapore and I used the Hotel 81 Bugis. Location was great and room was clean with good shower a little bit echoey as heard doors closing but otherwise great. was unable to get any ofthe other suggested places but also heard is booked well inadvance YMCA is good vale.

i would go for robertson quay hotel (already suggested by someone else above) - small room but fab location (with a pool) for the price!
