If you are looking at the Admiralty area, the Marriott is just a tad cheaper, although with less variety, but better food quality (my opinion).

Harbour Plaza hotel Metropolis is very good for lunch buffet. If you have certain credit cards, you get 20% off. The variety of foods is awesome, and the price is very good.

I also like Langham Place buffet, it also has credit card discounts.

Langham Hotel has the entree club membership, offers significant discounts for all meals.

I think Metropolis has the best deal. SO much food to choose from, and the desserts are awesome.

if you ask any hotel for a discount over the phone, they will normally offer it.

be wary of what you are paying for, ie, one particular hotel says "fresh fine de claire oysters" where in fact, they are defrosted pacific.

You may pay more at Shangri-la's but don't forget, they are the only fully HACCP certified hotels in HK, which means they don't skimp on safety and quality of food they serve.

basically find where the locals are eating, chances are they are respected for quality and price.

prices will also change daily, ie, normally mon-thurs is a tad cheaper than fri-sun.

happy chowing.
