Does anyone know if it is possible to change RMB to Dong in Hanoi? At the border? In NanNing? In Guangzhou?


Does anyone know if my China band card (ICBC bank) that is a part of UNION PAY will work in Vietnam?

I have no idea if your bank card will work, but I do know that my bank card works in some bank machines but does not work in other machines which require a 5 digit pin - and I only have 4 digits.

I had this problem going to VN. The VN don't particularly want RMB, they will gladly take USD. (Do you have a friend who will swap you some USD for your RMB?) An ATM machine in VN will dispense the type of cash you want, assuming you have an ATM card that will work internationally. Maybe ask at ICBC if your card will work in Hanoi?

Citibank and ANZ are present in Ha Noi. Assuming they are present in China, if you bank card works in their machines there, I would think it would work in Ha Noi.
