My 2 year old might have asthma (third bout of wheezing in past 2-3 months). Instead of going to our usual doctor (who happens to be really popular on this board) and paying a small fortune per visit for a 2-minute diagnosis, I think I need to go to a specialist who will actually explain what we need to look out for in order to minimize my child's discomfort. Would appreciate any recommendations posted to this thread or via PM.
Also, anyone know how much it costs to buy a nebulizer? Have already paid US$100 in rental fees. Renting doesn't sound like such a good deal.
Thanks.

The wheezing thing seems quite common in HK.Both my girls have suffered from it.My youngest has yet needed to see a specialist but my eldest did need to.We saw a fantastic respiratory specialist,Dr Leung in central. His first name is Ronald or Roland,I can't remember. His treatment was conservative yet effective. He explained that you cannot truly diagnose asthma in kids under three as the airways are small and easily become irritated but as I had suffered from asthma as a child he did treat it as such.Good thing was as soon as my daughter was three and a half she outgrew this tendancy-I hope my two year old will too!

We are about to get the IQ Air Filter for the kids room - I have read a lot on allergy and asthma boards and it seems to help for kids in polluted cities - but it is waaaaay expensive!!!!
It obviously won't solve the problem, but 12+ hours of good air could help us all :)
