Dog owners

Hi all, i live on Lamma island & will get 2 pups (10 wks) on July 2nd. Any info will be helpful:


-dog friendly places/events in HK (other than LAMMA!)

-dog sitters/walkers/kennels

-where can i get training/good dog toys?

Most of this information will only be relevant for HK island side but you might find something of interest.


There is a fab dog park on mount austin rd at the peak, also a track behind parkview and the waterfront park for dogs at wan chai on the harbour (in front of the spca). Others also recommend cyberport and the park nearby at pok fulam. You need to be aware of bowen rd and that someone regularly puts poisoned baits out for dogs on the track. If you go on bowen road, then always keep your pups leashed.

There are a lot of posts on this issue so i would just search and you will find out. There is also a lovely man at DB who looks after dogs in his own home. Treated like royalty and very responsible.


There are pet shops that sell products galore everywhere. Cannon st has a lot in causeway bay, Q-pets is a franchise and is everywhere.

A wonderful resource is http://www.noblepetshop.com/en/index.html. An online pet food and supplies store and they deliver.


SPCA also had a wonderful obediance class for when they get a bit older.
