Tutors should post their info here vs on the forums:

I really wish you just left this as a forum...not everyone lists their rates on that link and some of them may be out of date. Plus there is no info on tutoring for Mac programs. It wasn't a forum for people to advertise their services or rates. Hopefully people will still be able to post info to this forum as it will be a big help...as opposed to that link.

The problem is if we leave it then we end up with tons of tutors advertising on the forums and the forums become a mess... they are advice forums, not advertising forums... in the interest of keeping the site organized and the forums useful we will not allow this

The posts that were deleted were from people advertising their services - hardly fair when we have dozens paying on the link I posted...

The needs of the student, complexity of the topic (techinical aspects) and level in which the tutoring topic are some aspects that dictate the price of a tutor. Is the session 1:1 or different ratio also matters.
Target market for tutoring also affects price. Tutoring a 4 yo in English is not going to be the same as working with a University student who is aiming to improve writing skills or an Executive seeking to build vocabulary and presenatation skills - All three require the tutor to prepare in different ways also to know various depths of knowledge.
Plus, if the tutor you are working with has years of experience and is as receive accolades within their profession this also affects the price.
newyorker718 - when you say MAC programs for Westerners who is your target market? Frankly, I think that there is a market for such tutoring in the mainstream market as well but keeping in mind the service product you are offering is very niche - so you need to may need to do some minimal reasearch to know how to target your market.
briandwest - My monitoring market trends and tution rates I have noted HK$300 - HK$600/hr is the range rate for K thru Form 5, also
forest - for IB maths HK$900 - HK$950/hr is on target for the subject at hand
