I have recently notified my employer that I am not returning for the second year of a two year contract. According to the contract I am 5 days past the deadline for a no-penalty resignation. They have since informed me that I have to pay back three months salary and airfare. I realize that contracts are specific and that this may follow the "letter of the contract", but does this actually seem possible?
Anyone with advice please reply.
Also, looking for a contract lawyer who can review the employment contract and advise me on this matter (obviously for a fee). Any references would be appreciated.

Anything is possible. And unfortunately, provided that the terms of the contract do not break any laws, both/all parties to the contract are obliged to fulfil their commitments. Hopefully someone else will come up with the contact details requested. Good luck.
