My little one is on waiting list for FIS's Reception for school year starting this September.

Are there any FIS parents here who could let me know whether there is any chance at all that spaces might come up between now and during the course of the school year based on your experience/observation?

Or should I give up hope entirely?

I suggest you ask FIS. It's amazing how many people move. Ask what # you are on the list and what your chances are.Schools are used to this!

I did. They said they have a long waiting list and the chance is small (but doesn't mean it's zero). They didn't want to give an answer one way or another.

It happened to me in another school a year ago. They told us that the list was long and it was difficult to get a place. When we were about to give up, they called us a week later to ask us to come in for an assesssment for a space. So I couldn't really figure out how things work. Was it because A LOT of the students on the waiting list gave up the offer or it was simply an over exaggeration on the school's end?

hi Floozy,

My child is waiting for the international stream. We are native english speaker so english shouldn't be a problem for my little girl.

We are still on waiting list for Reception.... Does anyone know whether spaces would become available mid-year, i.e. children move away in the second term starting January? Is that likely? Should we be hopeful? Anyone have any experience with this?
