Hi,
I wanted to find out if there were any services like Expedia or Orbitz where we would not need to go through a travel agency and could sort the flights etc ourselves. Or-- is getting tickets from airlines directly, any cheaper?
Also are there any other airlines to Japan besides CX, ANA or JAL that you could recommend?

Sometimes the airlines are cheaper than Zuji though, but just shop around, you def don't need to go to travel agencies :o)

Zuji is sometimes cheaper (sometimes only if use a visa card) but they are not good for complicated routings (like if you need a stopover or want to do an open jaw or a circle ticket. Calling airlines direct is rarely if ever cheaper. If you are patient, then you should make a few calls to the travel agents. Zuji is good for regular run-of-the-mill tickets though, especially because they don't charge extra if you use your credit card to buy the ticket. Swire Travel also lets you pay (for their packages) with a credit card without an extra fee.

Thanks!! zuji.com seems perfect for this particular trip as it is very straight forward. ANA has some incredible deals right now for visiting Japan- that may work out as well. Have to check out Swire travels still.
