Where to find baby food in Guangzhou

Same as title. I wonder where I can find good quality baby foods here in Guangzhou. Heard from friends that baby foods made in China are not as good as the ones in HK or the US. Where do you get your baby foods? Do you trust the ones in mainland China?

I just made my baby's food based on recipe books like Annabel karmel. On ocassions that we have to travel, then I get my supply from HK.

Carrefour has organic veggies and some fruits. Just make your own with a blender and freeze them in cubes. www.askdrsears.com has good ideas for baby food too.

Just watch out for the organic stuff cos it tends to be shrink wrapped which leaches vitamins from vegetables. I think they feel they have to justify you paying more by adding more packaging... the conundrum, better for you? but worse for the planet?


I tended to stock up on jars in HK, and buy veggies fresh at the wet markets.

I thought about getting some mailed from the US but decided to try Heinz here first. Just purchased a package deal that includes 4 kinds of rice cereal, 4 jars of juice and 4 or 5 jars of puree. They are delivering it to our apart. today. I will probalby use the rice cereal often but only use the juice/puree as backup (when I am too lazy to make fresh ones myself)
