We enjoyed a stay at Pousada de Coloane, way down on the southern end of Coloane Island. It's secluded, and a nice walk into Coloane village, or hiking on the hillside, if the weather's not too hot and sticky. We think the prices are quite reasonable.

We usually stay at Pousada de Mong-ha, run by the Macau tourism institute. It's a lovely small place on a hill and reasonably priced. See

I went a few weeks ago and stayed at the Best Western. Nothing fancy, but the room was huge. I paid less than $700 per night for a twin room

I've stayed several times at the Sintra, a stoll down to the old section. The Venetian has a special deal now for $1088 Sun-Thur. It has pools and canals, etc. Check their website. Fianlly, I always book at the agents at the Macau Ferry pier, they offer cheap discounted hotels.
