oh yeah. banyan tree in bangkok is housed within a tall building.
we loved our stay at sukothai and they have one of the best thai restos (CELADON)

Definitely Sukhothai over Banyan Tree. I stayed at Banyan Tree before. It is not near anything, and, except for all the suites feature and the top floor spa, there is nothing fantastic about it.
We are going in August, and will be staying at the Marriott Mayfair Apartments. Good price for lots of space.

Recommend Sukhothai for the stay and thai food(Celadon).Banyan tree for Spa and dinner under the moon light(Vertigo)on top floor.These hotels located pretty next to each other which near"Suanlum Night Bazaar"place for shopping.Enjoy yr stay.
