Embassy Suites or Westin Hotel.
- comfortable with decent b/fast, frequent & free airport shuttles.
Westin own shuttle will also drop/pickup at nearby mall.
There is also a free trolley pickup "Ocean express" stopping at Westin area (cross the road for the trolley pickup) to go to the Manhattan beach or mall circuit, so that should be something enjoyable for a child. http://www.gatewaytola.org/pdf/oe_070620.pdf
You can pick up brochure for this free trolley timetable at Westin reception. I enjoyed this trolley ride.
Long Beach "Aquarium of the Pacific" is not too far for 1/2 day excursion.
