Return ID card for HK SAR passport holders.

I couldn't find the information in English (perhaps they assume that anyone who reads English just needs a Chinese visa and not a return card), so here is the info in Chinese:

The first card costs $390 and the child must accompany the parent to apply, along with birth certificate, photos, etc. You can go to any CTS office.


Last year we didn't notice that my son's card had expired until we were told at the border crossing to Shenzhen. In order not to ruin our holiday, we paid $460 for a one-time entry permit for him. BUT he already had a return card, so not sure what would happen if you just showed up at the border without one.
